Research

I am interested in elucidating the stem cell niche and stem cell lineage in our model organism Botryllus schlosseri and understanding the molecular signaling that occurs inside of this niche. The stem cell niche in mice and humans has been found to be the key to understanding stem cell proliferation and differentiation and I plan to use what is known in other organisms to discover how Botryllus use this niche to replenish their germ cell population.
